Please read these terms carefully before registering as a lawyer on the Tiwala Abogado platform.
Last updated: June 2026
Tiwala Abogado is an online marketplace that connects Filipino diaspora clients with IBP-licensed Philippine lawyers for property-related legal matters. The platform is operated by Motti Harary, based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
We are a technology platform, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, and we do not supervise or control the legal services you provide to clients. Your professional relationship with your clients is governed by the Code of Professional Responsibility of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and applicable Philippine law.
To register and remain active as a lawyer on Tiwala Abogado, you must:
By registering, you confirm that these conditions are true and that you will notify us immediately if your IBP membership status changes.
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when registering, including your full legal name, IBP roll number, city, practice areas, and bio. False or misleading information is grounds for immediate removal from the platform.
You may not create accounts on behalf of other lawyers, or use another lawyer's credentials to access the platform.
Your profile will be visible to the public after Tiwala Abogado has reviewed and approved your registration. We reserve the right to decline or suspend any registration at our sole discretion.
The 15% platform fee on each booking applies from day one and is charged to the client — it is not a subscription charge and is not affected by your subscription status.
If you refer another IBP-licensed lawyer who successfully registers and is approved on the platform, both you and the referred lawyer will each receive 3 additional months free before your respective subscriptions begin after your first bookings. Referrals must be made through the platform's referral process. Tiwala Abogado reserves the right to modify or close the referral program with reasonable notice.
Tiwala Abogado charges clients a platform fee on top of your quoted consultation fee. The platform fee is currently set at 15% of your quoted amount, and is paid by the client — it is not deducted from your fee.
Example: If you quote $100 for a consultation, the client pays $115. You receive $100. The platform retains $15.
All client payments are processed through the platform's payment system (currently Stripe). You may not accept direct payments from clients you have met through Tiwala Abogado, except as arranged in writing with the platform operator.
Lawyer payouts are processed manually during the current phase of operations. As the platform grows, automatic payouts will be introduced. You will be notified of any changes to payment procedures.
This holding period exists to protect clients and maintain the integrity of the platform. If a verified dispute, complaint, or refund request is raised by a client within the 14-day window, the relevant amount may be withheld or reversed before payout. You will be notified of any such action by email.
Once funds have been released to your bank account, Tiwala Abogado is not liable for any reversal of those funds unless required by applicable law or Stripe's terms of service.
This payout policy is in effect from the first paid consultation and applies at all times.
The platform fee is structured as a technology and referral platform charge paid by the client, not as a fee-sharing arrangement between the platform and the lawyer. This structure is designed to remain consistent with IBP rules on fee-splitting.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your participation on this platform complies with all applicable IBP rules, Supreme Court regulations, and ethical obligations. Tiwala Abogado does not provide legal or compliance advice regarding your IBP obligations.
By registering on the platform, you represent that you are currently in good standing with the IBP, have completed all required MCLE units, and are not subject to any suspension or disbarment order. You must notify Tiwala Abogado immediately if your status changes.
As a Tiwala Abogado lawyer, you agree to:
Consistent failure to meet response standards may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
You agree to treat all clients with professionalism and respect, regardless of their location, nationality, or the complexity of their matter. You will not discriminate against clients on any basis.
You must not solicit clients to move communications or payments outside the platform. All initial contact, consultations booked through the platform, and related payments must be conducted through Tiwala Abogado's systems.
You may not use your Tiwala Abogado profile to advertise services unrelated to Philippine property law.
Answers you post on the public Q&A board are not legal advice in a formal sense, and the platform displays a disclaimer to users to this effect. That said, you are responsible for the accuracy and professionalism of any answer you post under your name. Do not post answers that are misleading, incomplete to the point of being harmful, or that constitute unauthorized practice in a jurisdiction outside your license.
Posting answers on the public Q&A board is not paid work. The board exists to build client trust and give you visibility — you are not compensated for the number of questions you answer. Lawyers earn only from consultations that clients book and pay for through the platform.
Answers may not include external contact details — including Facebook or other social-media pages, personal email addresses, phone numbers, or links to outside websites. You may invite a client to book a consultation with you through the platform; all contact must stay within Tiwala Abogado. Answers that contain external contact details may be edited to remove them.
You retain ownership of the original content you write (answers, profile text, etc.). By posting content on the platform, you grant Tiwala Abogado a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content as part of the platform's normal operation, including for SEO and marketing purposes.
Tiwala Abogado reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any lawyer account for reasons including but not limited to:
Where possible, we will notify you before taking action and give you an opportunity to respond.
Tiwala Abogado is not responsible for the outcome of any legal matter handled by lawyers on this platform. The platform connects clients with lawyers — it does not supervise, guarantee, or warrant the quality of legal services provided.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tiwala Abogado's total liability to any lawyer arising from or related to use of the platform shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by that lawyer in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Furthermore, Tiwala Abogado and its developer assume no responsibility for any lawyer-client relationship that may arise through this platform, nor for the outcomes thereof, including the quality, accuracy, or outcome of any legal services provided by lawyers registered on the platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify registered lawyers by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, with the exception of conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate Philippine courts, unless otherwise agreed in writing between the parties.
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at mottiharary@gmail.com or through the Contact page.
